My screen is flickering / flashing / jumping and I can't send messages.

 

If you're screen has started flickering, or jumping, all of a sudden, you're experiencing what we call Jumping Flash Chat. It is fairly simple to fix:

 

1. Refresh your Flash Chat window by hitting F5 on your keyboard or clicking the refresh button on your browser. Your button may look like  or . This will most likely solve the problem.

 

If you've refreshed and the screen keeps jumping, or if the problem returns later in the same monitoring shift and refreshing doesn't work:

2. "Crash" your Flash Chat screen by clicking the "X" at the top right of the window (NOT by clicking the "logout" link)

3. Delete your temporary files and clear your cache.

 

If you've refreshed your browser as in Step 1, Deleted your files as in Steps 2 and 3 and the screen keeps jumping:

4. Check your settings against the QP documentation PDF.

Once the issue has been resolved, catch up on the chat if anything happened while your screen was jumping. Don't forget to apologize to your customer- if you don't tell them you were having technical issues, they may think you were just being mean and ignoring them.
